Highlands, NC Mountain Getaway

To ring in the first official day of Spring I headed up to Highlands, NC. A quick 2 hour and 15 min drive from Atlanta, it was the perfect spot to usher in this new season! Highlands is an adorable mountain town that acts as the perfect retreat when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life. I’ve listed all of my favorite spots and activities from our trip for you in this post so I hope you enjoy!

The Hotel:

We stayed at The Wells Hotel and it was one of the cutest spots I’ve ever stayed! I was obsessed with the bed. The sheets and mattress were just so luxurious and made me feel like I was sleeping on a cloud. The Wells Hotel also has so many amenities number one is it is located just a short walk away from Main Street, but also amenities on site like fireplaces in almost every room to give you those oh so cozy vibes plus the cutest lobby bar!

Restaurants:

Trying new restaurants is always one of my favorite parts of traveling. In Highlands we found two restaurants that really blew us away! First up is Four65 Woodfire Bistro + Bar. They use locally grown ingredients including some things from their own garden! The pizza was out of this world and mentally transported me to in Italy.

We also tried out Midpoint which has the cutest rooftop patio perfect for cocktails! Since we had such gorgeous weather we took advantage and sipped on some delicious cocktails. I highly recommend the Bonfire Margarita or the Boss Lady.

Hiking:

We wanted to get out and enjoy the first day of spring so we headed to Glen Falls Trail. A decent hike at 2.4 miles you feel like you got a good workout in so you can indulge in some yummy pizza later! The trail features beautiful scenery and some amazing waterfalls. Plus the best part…you can bring your pup along! I love to get out and see a little bit of nature wherever I travel and Highlands, NC did not disappoint!

Hopefully this post has inspired you to head up to Highlands, NC and take advantage of the beautiful scenery, amazing food and the fun outdoor activities!

Xo,

Ash
