It’s time to ditch the dark colors and bring on the brighter hues and splashes of colors…March 20th marks the first day of Spring 2019! Whether you are headed out for a Spring Break adventure with friends or just ready to freshen up your work wardrobe, I’ve picked out some subtle and chic style favorites to start the season right.
Let’s talk transitional pieces. Depending on where you live, there could still be snow on the ground, or flowers could be blooming already. Be prepared for chilly mornings (or nights out) by layering leggings and camisoles underneath your look, adding a solid color pop with a soft sweater, wrap, or lighter toned jacket, or accessorizing your look with a cute hat or scarf. Even if it’s still a little cold, you can trade your winter Blacks and Greys for lighter Mochas, Pastels and Creams to add some brightness back into your wardrobe. The same goes for jewelry where you were going for gunmetal and darker tones try soft golds, bright silver tones, or pearls. Build looks in your favorite Spring tones with solid color wardrobe staples and add some fun with color pops, pattern, and texture.
Don’t forget to add those final touches that complete your look with polish and poise. Add YOU to your style with great statement pieces like footwear, bags, and earrings. While florals are always popular this time of year (I know, groundbreaking…), don’t be afraid to try other prints and patterns. I am loving some animal print with snake and leopard prints this season Find prints that share tones with your solid color dresses, pants and tops to make your Spring wardrobe go even further.
So go ahead, shed some of those dark Winter layers and pack your bags for Spring Break… hopefully somewhere tropical! As for me, I’m headed off to the Bahamas at the end of the month to thaw out in the sun, sporting some of my favorite new styles for spring, of course! I can’t wait to share more fashion and travel tips after my trip. Also, check back for brand spotlight style reviews and even some giveaways!
